Outreach Ministry
The Outreach Ministry is all about sharing. We create opportunities to invite the public to come into our church to experience community with our members, and we reach out to serve our neighbors and humanity everywhere in real and practical ways.
Seminars. Outreach covers many ministries, programs, mission causes, and evangelistic efforts. Educational seminars, open to the public, often cover topics in areas of health, temperance, finance, archaeology, creation, environment, parenting, family life, and grief recovery.
Missions. Various mission projects around the world are supported through Adventist world missions, ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency), Maranatha, Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes, and more.
Other participation. Church members frequently participate in collections for the Hinsdale Food Bank and World Relief Clothing. They volunteer time to assist at PADS homeless shelters. They participate in walks and runs for charity, such as the Crop Walk and the 5K Walk. A group regularly does hospital and nursing home visitation.
The Outreach Ministry is about sharing the gospel – the story of Jesus – the love of God – with care and compassion to those around us, to the people whose lives we touch everyday. Literature distribution boxes, located at area train commuter train stations, are checked and filled regularly.
Also, giving Bible studies and corresponding with those taking the Discover Bible lessons falls under this ministry.
This is the ministry most directly given the mission, “Touch Everyone for Jesus.”
